Vistralo/Compare/Loom

Vistralo and Loom compared

Loom is the recorder most people already know: you record your screen and yourself, and send a link. Vistralo also records and sends a link, and then does one more thing. It writes and speaks an explanation of every screen, so you do not have to talk. Which one you want depends on whether your own voice is the point of the video.

What this page says about Loom was read on Loom's own website on 13 October 2026. Products change, so check the sources listed at the end before you decide.

The short version

Choose Loom when
You want to talk to a teammate on video, from any device, and have them reply with comments and reactions. Loom has desktop, browser and phone recorders, a team library and the integrations a large company expects.
Choose Vistralo when
You would rather not narrate, or the explanation has to be the same every time. Vistralo finds each screen in a recording, writes a line about it, speaks it and holds the picture while it plays. It also narrates a set of screenshots and writes a Visual brief of a public website.

What Loom does better

  • It records from more places. There are apps for the desktop and the phone, and a browser extension. Vistralo records in a desktop browser only.
  • It is built around a conversation. Viewers comment and react, and you can see who has watched. A Vistralo link is for watching.
  • It suits a whole company. Shared libraries, integrations with tools such as Slack and Jira, and enterprise sign-on are there today.
  • It has years of use behind it, and its enterprise page states SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. Vistralo is new and has no certification.

What Vistralo does that a recorder leaves to you

With a recorder, the explanation is whatever you managed to say while you were clicking. If you paused to think, the pause is in the video. If you scrolled past the important part, so does the viewer.

Vistralo separates the two jobs. You do the clicking in silence. Afterwards it works out where each screen is, writes what should be said about it, and holds the frame for as long as the sentence takes. The AI walkthroughs page shows the steps.

The same narration works on a folder of screenshots with no recording at all.
