Choose "Analyze a website" from the plus button beside Record. With that menu open, the W key picks it.
The form
- "Project name (optional)".
- "Website URL". You can type "example.com" and the "https://" is added for you. One page is captured: the address you give.
- "Include mobile viewport", which is on to begin with. The page is captured at 1440 pixels wide, and at 390 as well when this is on.
- "Draft an AI narration script", which is off to begin with. Left off, no paid AI runs. Turned on, frames from the capture are sent to OpenAI to draft a script, which you read and approve before any voice is made.
While it runs
You can leave the page. The project shows where it has got to: "Waiting for a free capture worker", "Starting browser", "Loading page", "Capturing", "Saving evidence", "Saving recording". With two widths it also says which one it is on.
What you get
A project with a Visual brief: screenshots of the page and written notes on its structure, type, motion and the libraries found in its code. You can edit the brief. See The Visual brief.
What it will not capture
Only public pages. See What "public pages only" means. If the capture fails, see "Couldn't analyze" a website.
In the demo
Website analysis in the demo is a local simulation. It shows what a brief looks like and does not visit the address.
