The narration is spoken by HeyGen. On Pro and Studio it runs on Vistralo's HeyGen account unless you save your own key. On Free it runs on your own HeyGen key.
The default
Leave the voice field empty and Vistralo uses its default voice. You do not need to choose anything to get started.
Using another voice
- Open Settings and go to "AI narration".
- In "HeyGen voice ID", paste the ID of the voice you want. You find voice IDs in HeyGen.
- Press "Save AI settings".
The voice applies to narration made from then on. A film that already exists keeps the voice it was made with until you use "Redo AI voice-over".
Voices you may use
Use a voice you have the right to use. A voice that imitates a real person needs that person's agreement.
Your own voice
If the right voice is yours, record a talk-through. See Your voice or an AI voice.
Telling viewers
A narrated film is spoken by a synthetic voice, and the page a share link opens says so under the film: "Narrated by an AI voice." A video file you download carries no such label, so add one yourself where the place you publish it expects that.
