Supported browsers

Record in Chrome or Edge on a computer. Other browsers and phones can watch, share and, in most cases, upload.

For recording

Use Chrome or Edge on a computer. Recording depends on the browser's own screen capture, which those two provide in full. If your browser cannot record, the app says: "Screen recording is unavailable in this browser. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer, or upload a recording instead."

Two parts of recording need Chrome or Edge specifically:

  • Recording part of the screen. Elsewhere the app says "Selecting an area needs Chrome or Edge."
  • The floating controls, which need a browser that can keep a small window above your other windows. Without it the controls stay at the bottom of the Vistralo tab.

The page must also be loaded over a secure connection, which app.vistralo.com always is.

For screenshots

Turning screenshots into a video happens in your browser and works in Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

For everything else

Uploading a video, analysing a website, editing a brief and sharing do not need screen capture.

On a phone

Phone browsers do not offer screen capture, so a phone cannot record. It can open a share link and play a walkthrough, which is what most people do with one.
