Share links and expiry

How to create a share link, how long it lasts, and what happens when it runs out.

A share link lets anyone who has it watch a walkthrough or read a Visual brief, in a browser, with no account.

Right after recording

When a recording is saved, its project opens with a panel headed "Your recording is saved". "Copy share link" creates a link and copies it. That link stops working after 7 days.

You do not have to wait for the narration. The panel explains: "You can share it now. The link plays this recording until the narrated walkthrough is ready, and plays that from then on."

Choosing how long it lasts

Press "Share" on the project, or "More options" in the panel.

  1. Under "Link expires after", choose "1 day", "7 days" or "30 days". Seven days is the starting choice.
  2. Press "Create read-only link".
  3. Copy the link. It is shown in full only now, at the moment it is made.

Your plan sets the longest life a link can have. See Plans and billing.

Links you have already made

The dialog lists them with "Expires" and the date, or "Revoked". An older link cannot be copied again, because its address is shown only when it is created. Make a new one if you have lost it.

When a link runs out

The person opening it sees "This link is unavailable" and "It has expired, or the person who made it has switched it off. Ask them for a new one." Your project is not affected. Create a new link and send that.

In the demo

"Demo links work only in this browser." To send a link someone else can open, you need a real workspace.
