Vistralo/Help/Recording

The 1 GB browser limit

A recording made in the browser stops when it reaches 1 GB. What is captured up to then is kept.

A recording made in the browser is held by the browser until you stop. To keep that safe, Vistralo ends a recording when it reaches 1 GB.

What happens at the limit

The recording stops by itself and the app says: "The 1 GB browser recording limit was reached. Your captured video is ready to save." Nothing is lost. The take is saved in the usual way, up to the moment it stopped.

How long is 1 GB?

It depends on what is on screen. A page that sits still compresses well. Full-screen video or constant motion fills the space much faster. There is no fixed number of minutes.

Staying under it

  • Share a tab, not the whole screen. A smaller picture makes a smaller file.
  • Record one flow per take and keep to the screens you mean to explain.
  • Record only part of the screen when the rest is not needed.

Recordings that have to be longer

Record with another tool and upload the file with "Narrate a video", which accepts files up to 50 GB. See Narrate a video.

Separately, your plan sets how many minutes of a recording will be narrated. See Plans and billing.
